This Model 887 features the ArmorLokt polymer over-molded construction unique to the platform, built over a steel receiver and barrel. The result is a hard-wearing exterior with a matte black finish, made in the United States and configured for practical use.
The 18.5 inch steel barrel carries a polymer overmolded shroud and a solid rib, topped with a green fiber-optic front sight on a ramp for fast alignment. The chamber is cut for 3.5 inch shells and also accepts 2 3/4 and 3 inch loads, providing versatile ammunition options.
Capacity is 6+1, with an extended magazine tube that runs to the muzzle and a clamp-integrated accessory rail for mounting compatible accessories. Controls include a cross-bolt safety. The synthetic stock and fore-end have molded texturing, and the stock is fitted with a Remington SuperCell recoil pad and a rear sling swivel stud. Length of pull is 13.75 inches.
This shotgun is discontinued (ended production in 2015). The Model 887 line also had a voluntary safety recall for certain 2013–2014 production units. No choke tube is included with this example; a choke should be installed before use.
