First-year (1983) production places this Government Model at the start of Colt’s Series 80 line, incorporating the Series 80 firing-pin block. It is a full-size, single-action 1911 in .45 ACP with a 5 in barrel and an 8+1 capacity.
The configuration mirrors GI-style features: arched mainspring housing, spur hammer, single-side manual thumb safety, grip safety, and a standard, non-lowered/non-flared ejection port. The slide uses rear-only vertical cocking serrations. Sighting is traditional, with a staked front blade and a fixed square-notch rear.
The pistol is built on a steel frame with a steel slide, both finished in matte silver. Controls include a solid trigger and a half-cock notch. Grips are one-piece OEM Colt wraparound rubber panels that cover the front strap, featuring round Colt pony medallions and a molded "COLT" banner on the finger groove for a secure, period-correct hold.
Inspector and assembly stamps include an "L" on the left side above the trigger and a "V" on the right side of the trigger guard. It was made in the United States during the 1980s and comes with one 8-round magazine fitted with a rubber base pad.
