Built in 1913, this pre-WWI Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket (Model N) delivers the classic micro .25 ACP format with a 2 inch barrel and a hammerless, striker-fired design. The simple blowback action and compact dimensions made this model a true vest-pocket carry of its era.
Markings include the early right-side slide legend "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE 25," plus manufacturer and patent-date rollmarks. A Colt triangle "VP" proof appears on the trigger guard. The serial number is located on the left side of the frame above the trigger guard. This example was produced without a lanyard ring.
The pistol wears its original-style fixed sights, with an integral front blade and an integral top sighting groove at the rear. Rear vertical slide serrations provide purchase for cycling. Both slide and frame are blued steel.
Safety equipment includes a manual thumb safety and a grip safety. The design follows Browning-pattern rotating-barrel takedown for field-stripping. Capacity is listed at 7+1 in .25 ACP.
This example is fitted with aftermarket imitation stag-pattern grip panels that do not carry Colt medallions, giving it a distinctive look while maintaining the compact handling characteristics of the Model 1908.
