This Kimber Rapide Black Ice is a full-size .45 ACP 1911 built on a stainless steel frame and slide with a distinctive two-tone gray KimPro II finish. It features TRUGLO TFX Pro day/night sights, stepped cocking serrations, and weight-reducing slide windows. Match-grade components and thoughtful controls make this an eye-catching, well-appointed 1911.
Engineered on the 1911 platform with a single-action, locked-breech system, the Rapide Black Ice combines a 5-inch match-grade bushing barrel with a lightweight, skeletonized aluminum V-cut trigger. Ambidextrous thumb safeties and a grip safety with memory bump support confident, consistent handling.
The stainless steel frame includes a machined round-dimple (Stiplex/golf-ball) texture on the frontstrap, a flat mainspring housing with matching Stiplex texturing, and an integrated, flared magazine well for smooth reloads. Black/gray textured G10 panels provide a firm, repeatable grip. The frame is marked "YONKERS NY USA."
The slide wears front and rear stepped cocking serrations, a lowered and flared ejection port, and top and side lightening windows near the muzzle. Sighting is quick and clear thanks to dovetailed TRUGLO TFX Pro sights: an orange-ring front with green tritium lamps and a two-lamp green tritium rear. Capacity is 8+1, overall length is approximately 8.7 inches, and unloaded weight is approximately 38 ounces.
