The Officer's ACP format delivers a shortened grip and 3.5-inch slide and barrel, giving this pistol a compact footprint with a 7+1 capacity in .45 ACP. It retains the traditional 1911 bushing-type barrel and single-action, hammer-fired operation.
Constructed with a stainless-steel slide and frame, the pistol shows matte and brushed surface treatments. Factory markings include right slide 'COLT OFFICER'S ACP' and left slide 'COLT MK IV SERIES 80' with the Rampant Colt logo. The barrel hood is marked 'COLT .45 AUTO.'
Series 80 internals add a firing-pin block to the classic 1911 safeties. Controls include a single-sided thumb safety and a standard short-tang grip safety. The pistol uses a solid, short trigger and a Commander-style rowel hammer.
Sight configuration is straightforward and serviceable: a ramped front sight with a white dot paired to a square-notch rear. Black checkered grip panels with silver Colt medallions provide a secure hold and period-correct appearance. Made in the United States during the 1980s, this example dates to 1987.
