What’s Included
- Antonio Zoli Model 1863 Zouave .58 caliber percussion rifle
- Steel tulip-head ramrod (installed)
Built by Antonio Zoli in Gardone Val Trompia, this rifle reproduces the U.S. Remington Model 1863 "Zouave" pattern with a two-band configuration and full-length hardwood stock. The brass furniture includes the buttplate, trigger guard, barrel bands, patchbox, and nosecap, offering the classic period-correct look and durability.
The 33-inch round blued steel barrel features a saber-bayonet lug, and the rifle is equipped with iron sights: a fixed blade front and a folding-leaf rear. The color case-hardened lockplate is decorated with a U.S. eagle motif, complementing the percussion hammer with a checkered spur for positive control.
The stock is a varnished, full-length hardwood piece with a right-side brass patchbox. Sling points are located at a stock/band staple just behind the forward barrel band and on the trigger-guard bow, and the rifle retains its steel trumpet (tulip) head ramrod. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches for a traditional shouldering profile.
Importer and maker marks are clearly present: SPESCO Atlanta, GA on the import stamp, and "ANTONIO ZOLI – GARDONE V.T. (Brescia) – MADE IN ITALY" on the barrel rollmark. Chambered in .58 caliber and configured as a single-shot percussion muzzleloader, this reproduction stays true to form with a 1-round capacity.
