What’s Included
- F.lli Pietta 1858 New Army .44 black powder revolver
Built on the classic solid topstrap frame of the Remington New Model Army, this reproduction delivers the well-known profile and sighting arrangement of the period. It wears fixed sights with a front post/bead and an integral rear groove in the topstrap for a clean, durable setup.
The single-action-only mechanism uses an external hammer and an unfluted six-shot cylinder with cylinder safety notches and intermediate safety slots. The forward base pin allows quick cylinder removal, and the under-barrel hinged loading lever is set up for straightforward charging of the chambers.
Materials and finishes are traditional: a blued steel frame, cylinder, and barrel; a brass trigger guard; and a color-case hardened hammer. The two-piece smooth walnut grip panels with brass escutcheons, secured by a cross screw, complete the period-correct look and feel.
Markings include Italian proof marks, the F.LLI PIETTA – MADE IN ITALY legend, and the FAP diamond logo. This is a modern reproduction manufactured in Italy. Note: documentation serial differs from the visible butt stamping.
