The Model 29-2 engineering change (1961–1982) is known for its pinned barrel and recessed charge holes. This example retains those features along with a six-shot fluted cylinder, shrouded ejector rod, and an underlugged, serrated top-rib barrel for controlled handling and a refined sighting plane.
Built on the robust S&W N-frame, this revolver is finished in a high-polish blue over carbon steel. The hammer and trigger are color casehardened, adding both functional durability and a period-correct aesthetic. Factory roll marks include "MADE IN U.S.A." and the S&W trademark crest.
Sighting equipment consists of a ramped front sight with a red/orange insert and a micrometer-click adjustable rear, providing precise, repeatable adjustments. The double-action/single-action mechanism supports both deliberate single-action work and traditional double-action operation.
Manufactured in the United States during 1975–1977, this 29-2 represents a 1970s production example of S&W’s .44 Magnum lineage, combining the pinned-and-recessed configuration with a 6.5 inch barrel length favored by many shooters of the era. The installed aftermarket rubber finger-groove monogrip-style stocks add a custom, hand-filling feel.
