The XC platform is Staccato's full-size 2011 built around a steel frame and a full-length, railed dust cover for added stability. The textured polymer grip with a flared magwell supports fast, consistent reloads and works with the included double-stack magazines for up to 20+1 capacity.
A one-piece, 5.0-inch island-compensator barrel anchors the slide assembly, keeping the front sight fixed to the barrel via the island-mounted post. X-series slide lightening windows and front slide windows reduce slide mass and complement the Dawson Precision tool-less recoil system.
The fire control system is single-action only with a skeletonized, approximately 2.5-lb trigger and a skeletonized commander-style hammer. Safety controls include a grip safety and a manual thumb safety.
Iron sights are configured with an island-mounted front sight and a rear sight. Overall dimensions are approximately 8.7 in (L) x 1.5 in (W) x 5.9 in (H), and the pistol weighs about 37.56 oz without a magazine or optic. Rails are present on the dust cover for accessory mounting.
