This Signature Series (3rd Generation) reproduction captures the compact 1862 Trapper configuration with a 3.5 in round, wedge-retained barrel and no under-barrel loading lever. It is factory-configured for off-gun loading, and this example includes the correct separate brass rammer tool.
The revolver uses an open-top Colt percussion frame with single-action operation and a deeply fluted five-shot .36 caliber cylinder without a scene. Sights are fixed, combining a brass bead front with a hammer-notch rear for a traditional sight picture.
Fit and finish are classic Colt: a high-polish blued barrel and cylinder paired with a color case-hardened frame and hammer. The bright-finish grip frame is fitted with a one-piece varnished walnut grip. The barrel top carries the rollmark "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA."
Factory embellishment includes the script Samuel Colt signature engraved on the backstrap. Matching serial numbers are observed on the major components, aligning with the correct factory configuration of this series.
