This New Ithaca Double Field Grade is an interwar-era, U.S.-made 12 gauge side-by-side with 30-inch barrels and the NID rotary top-bolt lockup. It features factory rosette accent engraving, a solid matted top rib, and fixed chokes that measure Full (left) and Improved Modified (right) by drop-in gauge. A slight right-hand cast-off aids fit, and an aftermarket orange ventilated rubber recoil pad sets length of pull at 14.0 inches.

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Overall Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.
Bore Fouling: Moderate Fouling - Lead or copper fouling with noticeable buildup.
Specific Condition Notes: There is pitting, scratching, and dings throughout. The locking mechanism needs work. The firing pins appear good. There is a crack in the forend wood. The left barrel has a heavy dent that will need to be raised before use.

The New Ithaca Double (NID) platform is Ithaca’s robust hammerless boxlock design with a rotary top-bolt lockup. This Field Grade example shows the line’s characteristic small rosette accents, with faint maker’s roll stamp on the receiver and serial marking present on the barrel flats.
Its 30-inch side-by-side barrels carry a solid matted top rib and fixed chokes. Using a drop-in gauge, the chokes measure Full in the left barrel and Improved Modified in the right, aligning it well for traditional field use. Capacity is two rounds.
Controls and furniture are classic NID: double triggers, a long forearm with inset metal latch, and a checkered pistol-grip stock. A single brass bead provides a straightforward sight picture on the rib.
Stock fit and shooting comfort are addressed with slight right-hand cast-off and an aftermarket orange ventilated rubber recoil pad, yielding a 14.0-inch length of pull.
