Developed with Gunsite Academy in line with Jeff Cooper's scout rifle concept, this model delivers practical features in a compact, .308 Win package. Its 16.5-inch, medium-profile barrel is threaded and capped with a birdcage-style flash suppressor.
The laminated hardwood stock is finished in gray and includes checkering, a rubber recoil pad, and spacer-based length-of-pull adjustment. A Gunsite medallion and sling swivel studs are factory features.
Iron sights include an adjustable ghost-ring rear and a protected front sight blade on a barrel band. A forward Picatinny rail is installed for mounting as needed.
The rifle uses a right-hand bolt with a round knob and a three-position wing safety on the bolt shroud. It feeds from a detachable box magazine system and offers a 10+1 capacity as configured with the included magazines.
The matte-finished steel receiver and overall build reflect Ruger’s U.S. manufacture, with a functional, duty-ready configuration suited to the scout rifle role.
