The Tactical 4.0 configuration pairs a commander-length 4.26 inch bushing barrel with STI's 2011 modular platform. The steel upper frame/receiver mates to a separate polymer grip module that includes an aggressive texture and a flared magwell for faster reloads.
Sighting is straightforward and fast: a red fiber-optic dovetailed front sight aligns with a plain black U-notch rear sight marked "10-8." The slide is cut with front and rear cocking serrations and a lowered, flared ejection port.
The pistol runs single-action only with a skeletonized trigger, a skeletonized commander-style hammer, a beavertail grip safety with memory bump, and a left-side manual thumb safety. Capacity is stated at 17+1 using double-stack magazines.
An integral accessory rail on the dust cover supports light or laser mounting. Markings include "TACTICAL 4.0" on the slide, the Texas-outline STI logo, "STI INTERNATIONAL – GEORGETOWN, TX USA" on the dust cover, and "2011" on the frame. The two-tone finish complements the compact, duty-ready format.
