This Ranger II uses a Commander-length 4.15-inch slide over a full-size steel 1911 frame, combining a bushing barrel setup with a lowered and flared ejection port. The slide carries rear-only slanted serrations. The frame has hex-pattern texturing on the front strap and a checkered flat mainspring housing for secure purchase. There is no accessory rail.
Controls are classic single-action 1911 with a single-side extended manual thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with a memory bump. A skeletonized, lightened trigger and a skeletonized Commander-style ring hammer complete the package.
Sighting is straightforward and durable: a low-profile Champion rear sight paired with a dovetailed front, providing a 3-dot sight picture. Markings include the Texas-outline STI logo and "STI INTERNATIONAL GEORGETOWN, TX USA." Country of origin is USA.
The pistol was originally chambered in .40 S&W and was professionally rechambered to 10mm Auto; the barrel hood still reads "40 S&W." A beveled magazine well funnel aids reloads. Installed are glossy resin "Veritas Aequitas" grip panels, and the OEM STI checkered wood grips with medallions are included.
Eight 8-round single-stack steel magazines are included with mixed basepads. Capacity is 8+1 in 10mm Auto. Two of the stainless magazines do not lock the slide to the rear automatically on empty.
