This bolt action rifle is chambered in the historic .30-40 Krag caliber and offers a 5+1 capacity. The 22" barrel is finished in blued steel (95%), while the stock and grips are crafted from solid wood. The rifle is equipped with an antique rear adjustable aperture sight and a front fixed post sight.
Included in the sale is a cleaning kit, conveniently located inside the buttstock. Please note that the original factory box or case is not included.
Manufactured in 1897, the M1896 Carbine succeeded the Model 1873 trap-door rifles and played a significant role in the American-Indian wars, the Spanish-American war, and the Philippine-American war.
