M+M Industries, Inc. of the United States entered the rifle market in 2005 as an importer of Romanian AK-pattern guns and, by the mid-2010s, shifted to U.S. manufacturing with an in-house 7.62×39 platform first shown in 2015 and refined into an International Defense Rifle by 2017 that remains the backbone of its lineup. Its rifles center on a simplified long-stroke gas-piston design that marries Kalashnikov reliability with Western ergonomics and ambidextrous controls, accepts standard AK magazines, and features an adjustable gas valve with suppressor settings and a markedly reduced parts count for a modular, U.S.-made “East-meets-West” 7.62×39 solution.
