Noble Manufacturing Company, Inc. was founded in the United States in 1953. The company ceased operations in the early 1970s, and in 1972 Smith & Wesson acquired the patents and tooling for its Model 66 pump shotgun, later producing it as the Model 916 (1973–1980). Its legacy centers on inexpensive utility-grade .22 rimfire rifles.
