Para USA, LLC of Canada made its mark in pistol frames by introducing, in the late 1980s, a high-capacity M1911 receiver/frame conversion unveiled at the 1988 SHOT Show that replaced the standard single-stack frame with a widened, double-stack “widebody” design. Their pistol frames are defined by this pioneering double-stack 1911 architecture, widening the grip to accept a staggered-column magazine that roughly doubled capacity and became a favored foundation for defensive and competition builds.
