International Armament Corporation (Interarms) was a United States company founded in 1953 by Samuel Cummings. Walther Interarms is not a standalone manufacturer; the name denotes Walther pistols imported by Interarms and, starting in 1978, produced under license by Ranger Manufacturing in Gadsden, Alabama, with U.S. PP-series manufacturing and distribution moving to Smith & Wesson in 1998 and U.S. operations handled by Walther Arms beginning in 2012, followed by U.S. production resuming in Fort Smith in 2018. Its defining legacy is U.S. market Walther PP-series pistols bearing Interarms import marks, including many examples built under license in the United States.
