Colt Blackpowder Arms Co. of the United States was formed in 1993 to produce licensed reproductions of Colt’s 19th-century cap-and-ball percussion revolvers, with first shipments in 1994 and the Third Generation “Signature Series” running through 2002. Its black powder line is defined by U.S.-assembled and hand-finished revolvers built to Colt specifications and marked with Samuel Colt’s signature on the backstrap, yielding faithful, collector-grade renditions of the original percussion designs.
