Founded: 1853

HQ: Germany

Königliche Gewehr- und Munitions-Fabrik zu Danzig was a German arms factory founded in 1853 by the Kingdom of Prussia. Production ended after World War I and the creation of the Free City of Danzig; by 1922 its machinery and tooling were transferred to the Polish state arsenals at Radom and Warsaw. Danzig’s legacy centers on Imperial German service rifles, often identified by receiver rings marked with a crown over “Danzig.”
