Royal Small Arms Factory (Enfield) was a United Kingdom arms maker founded in 1816 by the British Government’s Board of Ordnance. It is defunct; the Enfield Lock factory closed in 1988 and remaining small-arms work was absorbed into Royal Ordnance. Enfield is best known for the Lee–Enfield series of bolt-action service rifles.
