Product Description

D.G.F.M.-(F.M.A.P) Sistema Colt Modelo 1927, Ejército Argentino Contract, .45 ACP, 5-in Barrel, 1946 Production

Built in 1946 under license from Colt, this Sistema Colt Modelo 1927 is an Argentine Army contract pistol that mirrors the M1911A1 in forged steel quality and military-grade reliability. Matching serial numbers on the slide, frame, and barrel confirm its original build, while the Argentine crest and Spanish legends remain sharp and intact. An aftermarket set of textured black synthetic grips with red/black triangle medallions adds a discreet custom touch without altering the pistol’s classic military profile.

Bore Condition: Good – Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

    What’s Included

    • D.G.F.M.-(F.M.A.P) Sistema Colt Modelo 1927 pistol with aftermarket textured grips
    • One 7-round single-stack steel magazine with witness holes and detachable floorplate

Licensed by Colt and produced at the Estado Fabril Militar de Armas Portátiles (Rosario), the Sistema Colt earned a reputation as one of the highest-quality foreign 1911 clones. This example comes from the early 1946 serial block (30001–37628), aligning it with the first post-war production run for Argentine forces.

The forged carbon-steel frame and slide retain their uniform dark gray/black parkerized finish, complemented by vertical rear slide serrations cut at roughly 24 lines per inch. All military markings are clear, preserving both collectibility and historical value.

Mechanically, the pistol maintains its original wide-spur rowel hammer, fixed blade front sight, dovetailed U-notch rear sight, and lanyard-loop arched mainspring housing. The single-action, recoil-operated system follows the classic 1911 pattern, delivering the familiar trigger feel and manual of arms that shooters expect.

An aftermarket two-piece grip set provides a secure hold without permanently altering the firearm. The standard 5-inch barrel, chambered in .45 ACP, pairs with the included 7-round magazine to keep the pistol true to its military specification.
