Product Description

DGFM-FMAP Pistola Sistema 'Colt' Modelo 1927 .45 ACP 1911A1 - 5 in Barrel, 1961 Production, Matching Numbers, Argentina

This DGFM-FMAP Pistola Sistema 'Colt' Modelo 1927 is a licensed Argentine copy of the Colt M1911A1, produced in 1961 within the 108,395–109,394 serial block. It features matching serial numbers on the frame, slide (side and top), and barrel, with the barrel serial oriented lengthwise per post-100,000 convention. Import-marked by R.S.A. Enterprises, it retains period-correct GI features and construction that collectors look for in a Sistema.

    Condition

    Overall Condition: Poor condition.

Bore Overall Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.

Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.

Specific Condition Notes: There is widespread finish discoloration. Minor rust and pitting are present. The hammer follows when the slide is dropped. Parts will need to be replaced in order to make this pistol fully functional. The leaf spring, main spring, hammer and sear may need replacement.

    What's Included
    • DGFM Pistola Sistema 'Colt' Modelo 1927 pistol
    • 1x 7-round single-stack steel 1911 magazine (unmarked, with witness holes)

Built by DGFM-FMAP in Argentina under license, the Modelo 1927 follows the M1911A1 pattern with parts interchangeability. Production at FMAP ran from 1945 to 1966 with approximately 88,494 made, and this example dates to 1961. Matching numbers are observed on the frame, slide, and barrel, and the slide also carries a serial on top.

Chambered in .45 ACP (marked as CAL. 11.25mm), this full-size 1911 uses a 5-inch barrel and a 7+1 capacity. It operates via a single-action, short-recoil system on a steel frame, keeping to the classic 1911 format and handling characteristics.

Correct GI-style details include rear-only cocking serrations, a non-lowered ejection port, a short solid trigger, and a wide spur hammer. The fixed sights are GI pattern: a staked rounded front blade and a small square/U-notch rear in a dovetail, with an approximate 165 mm sight radius. It wears checkered wood grip panels, a standard checkered magazine release, and has both a manual thumb safety and grip safety. M1911A1 features include relief cuts behind the trigger guard and an arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop.

The slide is marked "D.G.F.M.-(F.M.A.P.)" and the pistol bears the U.S. importer stamp "IMPORTED BY R.S.A. ENTERPRISES, OCEAN, NJ." These factory and importer markings, coupled with the matching-numbered major components and 1961-dated serial block, make this a well-documented Argentine Sistema example.
