What's Included
- Zbrojovka Brno Mod. 98 Ethiopian Contract bolt-action rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser
This rifle is a post-war Brno production Mod. 98 built for Ethiopia, identifiable by its Czech crest and proof marks on the barrel shank and receiver. The receiver ring bears the "swp 45" code, with "Mod. 98" on the left receiver wall. Czech proofs in lieu of German acceptance marks denote its specific contract provenance.
The laminated hardwood stock features a left-side sling slot, a cupped buttplate, and a stock disc bearing the St. George slaying the dragon symbol. It uses a K98k-pattern handguard with late-war stamped fore-end retainers, and includes a large oval winter trigger guard with a hinged floorplate.
Sighting equipment follows the K98k pattern, with an adjustable tangent rear sight and a driftable front blade on a hooded base (hood not installed). A cleaning rod sits under the muzzle, and a bayonet lug is fitted to the front band.
Built on a Mauser 98 receiver, it uses a controlled-round-feed bolt with a stripper-clip guide and a third safety lug, along with a flag safety. The fixed internal magazine holds five rounds for a 5+1 capacity. The barrel measures approximately 23.6 inches, and the length of pull is 13 inches.
