Zbrojovka Brno, s.r.o. was founded in 1918 in Czechoslovakia by the Czechoslovak state. Its firearms division was later taken over and relaunched by Česká zbrojovka (now Colt CZ Group), with operations resuming as Brno Rifles around 2006 and the entity renamed Zbrojovka Brno, s.r.o. in 2010 to focus on break‑action hunting rifles and combination guns. Its defining legacy lies in prewar light machine guns, notably the ZB vz. 26 that led to the British Bren gun.
