SKB Model 685 Over/Under Two-Barrel Set, 12 & 20 Gauge, 28 in 12GA + 26 in 20GA, 3 in Chambers, Engraved Satin Silver Receiver with Gold Inlays
This SKB Model 685 is a Japanese-made, factory-engraved boxlock over/under that comes as a matched-number two-barrel set in 12 and 20 gauge. It features a satin silver receiver with scroll engraving and gold duck and pheasant inlays, a gold-tone single trigger, and 3-inch chambers. Both barrel sets are clean and well cared for, and the receiver, both barrel monoblocs, and both forend irons share matching serial numbers.
Condition
Overall Condition: Excellent condition, showing only faint signs of any prior use or handling.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Specific Condition Notes: There are minor scratches to the barrel finish. The stock and forend are in good shape with only very light handling marks. The action is tight with either barrel set, and the locking lug indexes near the 6 o'clock position. The bores on both barrel sets are clean and shiny. On the 20 gauge barrels, the ejectors are very slightly mis-timed; the right ejector trips a fraction earlier.

The receiver wears a satin silver finish with factory scroll engraving and gold game-bird inlays, complemented by engraved hinge pin rosettes. Barrels are blued with a ventilated top rib, solid side ribs, and removable flush choke tubes. Sighting is via a brass front bead.
This is a true two-barrel set. The primary 12-gauge barrels measure 28 inches, and the included 20-gauge barrels measure 26 inches with their matching forend. Both sets use twin ejectors and are chambered for 3-inch shells.
The shotgun uses a gold-tone single trigger and a right-hand cast-off, checkered walnut pistol-grip stock with an SKB-branded ventilated recoil pad. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches, offering a familiar fit and quick mount. Slight right-hand cast-off is present as noted.
Chokes provided are organized by gauge for flexibility: 12GA includes Full, Improved Cylinder, and Modified; 20GA includes two Skeet tubes, Improved Cylinder, and Modified. Markings include the G.U., Inc., Omaha, NE import stamp and "Proof Tested." Capacity is two rounds, and the action is the proven SKB boxlock over/under with twin ejectors.
