    What's Included

    • VKT M39 bolt-action rifle (7.62x54R)

Built in Finland by VKT on a captured Imperial Russian hex receiver, this M39 reflects its wartime origin and Finnish refurbishment. The boxed SA property stamp and VKT maker’s mark are present, confirming Finnish Army service and manufacture. The rifle retains its correct two-barrel-band configuration with nosecap and the characteristic hexagonal receiver.

The 27 inch heavy barrel carries the "D" throat mark, indicating modification for Finland’s D-166 heavy-ball specification. The rear sight base shows additional stamped numbers, consistent with Finnish practice. A Century Arms "CAI ST ALB. VT M39 FINLAND 7.62x54R" import mark is on the barrel near the front sight.

Sighting equipment includes a windage-adjustable protected front post with ears and a locking screw, paired with a tangent rear sight featuring a sliding ramp. This setup reflects the Finnish emphasis on precise adjustment and robust protection in the field.

The heavy two-piece birch stock includes a crossbolt, finger-groove forearm, semi-pistol-grip butt, and a metal buttplate. Sling hardware consists of a right-side sling bar and a bottom rear sling swivel. The rifle uses a fixed internal 5-round magazine (capacity 5+1 as reported), aligning with the Mosin-Nagant platform configuration.

Taken together, the WWII-era build year of 1944, the SA property mark, the D-throat chamber, and the captured hex receiver make this a strong example of a Finnish M39 that highlights the country’s upgrades to the Mosin-Nagant platform.
