Valtion Kivääritehdas (VKT) was founded in Finland in 1926 by the Government of Finland. In 1946 it was consolidated into the state conglomerate Valtion Metallitehtaat, later known as Valmet, and the Tourula works ultimately merged with Sako in 1986 as Sako-Valmet. VKT is remembered for its Finnish Mosin-Nagant rifles.
