Product Description

    Underwood M1 Carbine .30 Carbine Semi-Auto Rifle, 1943 WWII Production, Underwood-Stamped Barrel, 18-inch Barrel, 30+1 Capacity

This WWII-era 1943 Underwood M1 Carbine features an Underwood-stamped barrel with U.S. ordnance markings, a narrow barrel band without bayonet lug, and a two-rivet upper handguard. It retains its military protective finish and correct receiver legend 'U.S. CARBINE CAL .30 M1.' An adjustable rear aperture sight (a common service/rebuild upgrade) is installed. Included are a curved 30-round steel magazine and a USGI web sling with oiler.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: This firearm shows visible handling wear with scratches and blemishes across the surfaces. The front of the stock is cracked past the barrel band. It remains in overall decent shape for its age.

    What’s Included

    • 1x 30-round steel magazine (curved pattern)
    • USGI web sling with oiler installed in buttstock slot

Made by Underwood in 1943, this M1 Carbine represents wartime production with clear identifiers: an Underwood-marked barrel, the ordnance flaming bomb on the barrel, and a 'P' proof behind the front sight. The receiver is correctly marked 'U.S. CARBINE CAL .30 M1.'

The carbine retains a narrow barrel band without a bayonet lug and a two-rivet upper handguard. It uses a fixed, full-length hardwood stock with an oil finish and the oval sling/oiler cut, paired with a checkered steel buttplate. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches.

Sighting is via a protected front blade and an adjustable rear aperture with a windage knob, a later upgrade commonly seen on service or arsenal rebuilds. The top-mounted operating slide/charging handle is true to the M1 configuration.

The semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system is paired with an 18-inch carbon steel barrel and carbon steel receiver finished in a military protective finish. Capacity is 30+1 using the included 30-round magazine, a pattern commonly associated with the M2 but fully compatible with the M1.

Included accessories complement the platform: a USGI web sling with the oiler properly fitted into the stock cutout, and a curved, steel 30-round M1 Carbine magazine. The Underwood-stamped barrel is a key highlight for collectors focused on wartime-marked components.
