    Savage-Anschutz Model 54 Sporter .22 LR Bolt-Action Rifle, 24" Barrel, 1978 West German, Match 54 Action, Blued, Walnut Monte Carlo Stock

    This West German Savage-Anschutz Model 54 Sporter is a 1978 Ulm-proofed .22 LR built on the renowned Anschütz Match 54 action. It features a 24" tapered sporter barrel, a right-hand Monte Carlo walnut stock with skip-line checkering, and an externally adjustable trigger with a knurled wheel. Integral 11 mm dovetail grooves are fitted with 1 in scope rings, and the rifle retains clear West German and importer rollmarks.

Barrel and receiver markings include "Savage•Anschutz Model 54, Sporter" and "Caliber .22 Long Rifle — Made in West Germany," along with importer rollmarks for Savage — Westfield, Mass., U.S.A., and Anschütz — Ulm, West Germany.

    The steel 24" tapered sporter barrel is chambered in .22 Long Rifle and wears a blued finish. Sighting equipment consists of a ramped front base with hood provision (hood not installed) and a barrel-mounted folding leaf rear sight, providing a traditional open-sight setup.

    The right-hand Monte Carlo walnut stock features a cheekpiece, skip-line checkering on the fore-end and pistol grip, a white-line spacer, a black buttplate, and a fore-end sling swivel stud. Length of pull measures 13.5". The blued steel receiver matches the barrel finish for a cohesive look.

    Built on the Anschütz Match 54 action, this Sporter includes an adjustable trigger with a user-accessible knurled adjustment wheel in the bottom metal. Integral 11 mm dovetail grooves are fitted with 1 in rings, and the rifle feeds from a detachable 5-round magazine for a 5+1 capacity.
