This Finnish M39 is a 1970-dated, late no-maker service rifle with no SAKO/VKT crest, reflecting the final production pattern for this series. It is a like new rebuild by Finland and retains the classic M39 configuration: a 27 in barrel, internal 5-round magazine, and robust steel receiver with a blued finish.
The rifle is equipped with iron sights consisting of a wing-protected square front post with screw-secured windage adjustment and a tangent rear sight with an elevation slider. Brass elements are present on the rear-sight base and slider. An import marking at the muzzle identifies the caliber and model.
Furniture includes a hardwood stock with a semi-pistol-grip profile, finger groove fore-end, rectangular butt sling slot, and a toe splice, paired with a wood handguard. It uses two barrel bands and a separate nosecap/fore-end cap, and it retains a bayonet lug under the front sight/nosecap.
Built on the Mosin-Nagant platform and finished in blue with the bolt left in the white, this example also features a hex-pattern receiver. Matching serial numbers on the barrel shank and receiver add to its appeal for enthusiasts of Finnish service rifles.
