Built on the robust Mosin-Nagant platform with a desirable hex receiver, this M/39 is part of the late post-war Finnish assembly runs. The barrel shank is marked SAKO and dated 1967, and the rifle is chambered in 7.62x54R with a 27 in barrel and an approximate overall length of 46.7–46.8 in. It uses a fixed 5-round internal magazine.
The stock is Finnish birch with a semi-pistol-grip profile, a two-piece finger-jointed fore-end, and a full-length handguard. A side sling bar and bottom sling swivels are present. Length of pull measures 13.5 in.
Sighting is a strong suit on this rifle: the front is a winged post with protective ears and windage adjustment, paired with a Finnish rear sight featuring a micrometer-style slider for precise elevation changes.
Markings include the SAKO 1967 barrel shank stamp and the import mark "M-39, FINLAND TG KNOX TN." The bolt is left in-the-white, with electro-penciled bolt body markings and a bolt knob stamped 0470.
