The India Pattern (Third Model) configuration is evident in the 39-inch barrel that is pinned to the stock and supported by three brass ramrod pipes. This layout, combined with the .75 caliber smoothbore, reflects the standard service pattern associated with later Brown Bess production.
The musket retains hallmark brass furniture, including the buttplate, trigger guard, serpentine sideplate, and nosecap. The full-length wooden stock shows a pronounced handrail/raised wrist profile and is paired with a ring-neck cock, matching the period style of the action.
Markings are clear and informative: the lockplate tail is stamped "TOWER" with a Crown over "GR" on the lockplate. Broad-arrow style property/inspection marks and multiple proofs appear at the barrel breech/top. The barrel breech area is stamped with the six-digit number "189685," and the stock flat is stamped "685."
Sighting is by a bayonet-lug front stud only, with no rear sight, as typical for the pattern. The barrel is iron/steel, smoothbore, and features a pinned installation. The action is a flintlock muzzleloader with a single-shot capacity and a measured length of pull of 13.0 inches.
