Built at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant in 1948, this Mosin–Nagant M44 carbine represents the final year of Soviet M44 production. It features matching Cyrillic serials on the receiver, bolt body, and floorplate, plus the Izhevsk triangle-arrow and Soviet state crest markings. The carbine retains its integral side-folding cruciform spike bayonet, a 20.25-inch barrel, and a blued steel receiver mated to a hardwood stock.
Import-marked by Century Arms International in St. Albans, VT, this post-WWII M44 shows the classic carbine configuration: full-length handguard with two spring-retained barrel bands, sling slots, and a steel buttplate. Sights are the standard hooded post front and a tangent rear sight with meter graduations. Chambered in 7.62x54R with a 5-round capacity and bolt-action operation, it captures the core characteristics of the Soviet service carbine.
The round receiver with a straight bolt handle and the blued finish present the correct late-production profile from Izhevsk. The stock includes a grasping groove and is paired with the full-length handguard. Markings include the C.A.I. import stamp and caliber designation "M44 RUSSIAN 7.62x54R."
