Built on a 1911 platform and scaled for magnum power, the Mark I uses a single-action, short-recoil system with a Browning-type swinging link and locking lugs. Control features include a thumb safety, grip safety, and an extended beavertail for confident handling under recoil.
Sighting is set up for precision with a fully adjustable, white-outline square-notch rear and a ramped front sight with an orange/red insert. These iron sights pair well with the pistol’s 6.5" barrel to support deliberate, accurate shooting.
The pistol wears a uniform matte dark finish on both slide and frame, complemented by a rounded, serrated spur hammer and a squared trigger guard. Black checkered synthetic grips with a molded L.A.R. MFG., INC. emblem provide a secure hold.
Slide and barrel markings include "GRIZZLY WIN MAG" and "MARK I," with "45 WIN MAG" on the barrel hood. The manufacturer rollmark reads "L.A.R. MFG., INC. WEST JORDAN, UT. 84084, U.S.A." Capacity is 7+1 rounds, with an overall length of approximately 10.25 inches and an unloaded weight of about 48 oz.
This example aligns with late-1980s production materials, as reflected by the factory box-end sticker dated 10-5-88, and it comes with the original manual and a stainless steel-body 7-round magazine.
