Carcano Mod. 91 Long Rifle 6.5 Carcano Bolt-Action, 31 Inch Barrel, Sporterized, Italian Military Proofed
This Carcano Mod. 91 Long Rifle is a sporterized Italian bolt-action chambered in 6.5 Carcano with a 31-inch barrel and a full-length hardwood stock. It carries Italian military proof marks despite the absence of manufacturer markings, and the barrel shank shows a K-prefix serial. Notable modifications include the removal of both front and rear sights; the rifle retains its standard Carcano fixed bottom metal for the Mannlicher en‑bloc magazine.
The rifle retains classic long-rifle features such as a full-length stock with grasping groove, two barrel bands, a steel buttplate, and an underside sling loop behind the trigger guard. The action uses a rotating bolt sleeve safety and a straight bolt handle with a round knob. Capacity is 5 rounds, and the length of pull measures 14.25 inches.
Proofed for Italian military service, this example shows clear Italian proof marks that help contextualize its origins even without a maker’s name. The K-prefix on the barrel shank is present and visible on close inspection.
It has been customized and sporterized: the rifle currently has no sights installed, and it retains the standard Carcano fixed bottom metal/en‑bloc magazine system.
