This Japanese-made SKB Model 385 field shotgun pairs a coin-finished, factory-engraved receiver with blued 28-inch steel barrels and 3-inch magnum chambers. It features a solid, matted rib with a single brass bead, a single gold-colored trigger with tang safety, and classic walnut furniture. Imported by G.U., Inc., Omaha, NE, this model comes from SKB’s final Japanese-made SxS field series before mid-2000s discontinuation and has Full and Modified chokes installed. Matching serial numbers are present on the action, barrels, and forend (serial NS42486).
Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Specific Condition Notes: The walnut stock and beavertail forend show a few dings and scuffs. The locking lug has good remaining life, and the barrels lock up tightly. The firing pins appear to be in great shape. The ejectors are mis-timed.

The 28-inch steel barrels are set up for field use with a solid, matted top rib and a single brass bead front sight. Chambers are cut for 3-inch magnum shells, and this shotgun is configured with Full and Modified chokes installed.
The break-action design uses a single, gold-colored trigger and a tang-mounted safety. The receiver wears a coin/silver finish with sculpted fences and factory scroll/floral engraving that complements the blued barrels for a classic two-tone presentation.
Furniture includes a gloss-finished walnut pistol-grip stock with sharp checkering and a black recoil pad, matched to a beavertail forend. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches, offering a traditional field fit.
