Product Description

    Simson & Co. Suhl P.08 Luger 9mm, Weimar-Era, 4" Barrel, Import Marked, Non-Matching, Replacement Grips, 1 Mag & Holster

This Weimar-era Simson & Co. Suhl P.08 is a scarce 9mm Luger produced when Simson was the sole authorized German maker of new military-contract Lugers. It carries Simson-specific acceptance proofs, a "1920" national property stamp, and a toggle marked "SIMSON & CO SUHL." Built with the Army/Police-length 4" barrel and period-correct sights, this example is import marked by Century Arms International and features non-matching small parts, some renumbered by electro-pencil, and replacement black vertically-grooved synthetic grips.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: The pistol shows scattered cosmetic imperfections, including scratches, blemishes, and areas of finish loss. The bore remains clean and shiny. Small parts are not matching, with some re-numbered by electro-pencil on the sideplate.

    What’s Included
    • Luger P.08 magazine with alloy base (1x 8-round)
    • Leather hard-shell Luger-pattern holster

Simson P.08 production was limited during the Weimar period, and this example falls within the 1927–1928 timeframe. The toggle is correctly marked "SIMSON & CO SUHL," and the pistol bears Simson-assigned Weimar eagle/6 acceptance proofs along with a firing proof eagle. The "1920" property stamp is present, indicating Weimar-era national property marking.

The pistol retains the classic Luger configuration with a 4" (100 mm) Army/Police-length barrel and iron sights: a banded, dovetailed front blade and a rear V-notch integral to the rear toggle. It operates on the Luger’s toggle-locked short-recoil, locked-breech system with an 8+1 capacity.

Not parts matching: the small parts are non-matching, with some numbers applied by electro-pencil on the sideplate. The grips are replacement black vertically-grooved synthetic panels (non-checkered), offering a secure hold while differing from traditional checkered panels.

Import information is cleanly marked: "C.A.I. ST. ALB. VT" and "LUGER P08 9MM GERMANY" on the barrel. This German-made, full-size steel-frame Weimar pistol presents a documented set of proofs and markings that align with Simson’s unique role as the sole authorized P.08 producer for German contracts in the era.
