Nambu Arms Manufacturing Company was founded in Japan in 1927 by Kijirō Nambu. It was reorganized as Chūō Kōgyō in 1936; after World War II it operated as Shin-Chūō Industries and later became part of Minebea (now MinebeaMitsumi), with postwar police sidearms sold under the “New Nambu” name. The brand is best known for Japanese military sidearms.
