Benelli Armi S.p.A. of Italy entered the rifles segment in 2003 with the semi-automatic Argo platform for big-game hunting, later added a 5.56×45mm carbine, and in 2020 introduced its first bolt-action; rifles remain a complementary line to its shotgun core, now spanning semi-automatic hunting rifles and a modern bolt-action. Distinctive to Benelli’s rifles are the patented A.R.G.O. short-stroke, dual-piston gas system with the gas port placed just forward of the chamber for cleaner, more reliable cycling, free-floating barrels and Comfortech/Argo E ergonomics, and a bolt-action built for sub-MOA accuracy with a chassis-style alloy receiver, steel-to-steel bedding, and modular fit using shims plus Progressive Comfort recoil reduction.
