Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil (IMBEL) is a Brazilian manufacturer founded in 1975 by the Government of Brazil’s Ministry of the Army. It is known for licensed production of Brazil’s FN FAL rifles as the M964 and M964A1 ParaFAL, the development and manufacture of the IMBEL IA2 rifle family, and M1911-pattern pistols whose frames have been widely used in Springfield Armory-branded 1911s.
