Royal Ordnance Factory Fazakerley in the United Kingdom was a principal British government arsenal for Lee–Enfield rifles, established as a shadow rifle plant and beginning production in July 1941 before sustaining the program into the mid 1950s. Its rifles are distinguished by high wartime output followed by post-war improvements, spanning a lightened carbine variant to late-pattern refinements, with final British Lee–Enfield production completed at Fazakerley in 1956.
