Saginaw Steering Gear Division, General Motors, was an American manufacturer established in 1943. After World War II its firearms production ceased, and the division continued in automotive steering, ultimately known as Nexteer Automotive; no firearms are produced under the Saginaw S.G. name today. Its defining legacy is wartime production of U.S. .30-caliber carbines, with receivers marked "Saginaw S.G." and "S'G'" after taking over Irwin-Pedersen's Grand Rapids contract.
